Privacy Policy

How Tanjung Capital handles personal data, in line with the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act 2012. Last updated: April 2025.

Tanjung Capital (UEN: pending registration / "we", "us") is committed to handling the personal data of individuals who interact with us with care and in accordance with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA). This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and your rights in relation to it.

Who This Policy Applies To

This policy applies to individuals who visit our website, enquire about our courses, enrol as participants, or otherwise provide us with personal data. It does not apply to information about companies or other legal entities.

Data We Collect and Why

We collect only the information necessary for the purposes described below. The table sets out the main categories.

Legal Basis for Processing

Under the PDPA, we process your data on one of the following grounds:

  • You have given consent (for example, by submitting an enquiry form or accepting analytics cookies)
  • Processing is necessary to fulfil a contract with you (for example, to administer the course you have enrolled in)
  • Processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation
  • Processing is necessary for our legitimate interests, where those interests are not overridden by your rights

How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect only for the purposes stated above and for closely related activities such as:

  • Sending course materials, schedules, and workbooks to participants
  • Issuing receipts and administrative correspondence
  • Contacting you if a cohort date changes or a course is rescheduled
  • Sending occasional updates about new courses, where you have not opted out

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for commercial purposes.

Sharing Your Data

We share personal data only when necessary to operate the business:

  • Payment processors, to handle course fee transactions securely
  • Email service providers, used to send course-related communications
  • Cloud storage providers, for secure document storage
  • Government authorities, if required by law or regulation

Any third parties we engage are contractually required to handle personal data in a manner consistent with the PDPA and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

International Transfers

Some of the service providers we use are based outside Singapore. Where personal data is transferred abroad, we take steps to ensure that an adequate level of protection is maintained, including through contractual arrangements.

Retention

We retain personal data for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected, and no longer than necessary. As a general guide:

  • Enquiry data not resulting in enrolment: 12 months from the date of the enquiry
  • Enrolment and participation records: 7 years from the date the course concludes, to meet general record-keeping obligations
  • Marketing preferences and opt-out records: retained until withdrawn

When data is no longer required, it is deleted or anonymised.

Your Rights

Under the PDPA, you have the right to:

  • Request access to personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data
  • Withdraw consent for the use of your personal data at any time (this does not affect uses made before withdrawal)
  • Request that we stop using your personal data for marketing communications

To exercise any of these rights, please write to us at the contact details below. We will respond within 30 days. In some cases, we may need to verify your identity before processing a request.

Security

We take reasonable precautions to protect personal data from unauthorised access, disclosure, or loss. This includes access controls, encrypted storage where appropriate, and training for staff who handle personal data. No method of transmission over the internet is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take this obligation seriously.
