A steady place to think
about the years ahead
Tanjung Capital has spent eight years developing financial education that respects the intelligence and experience of adult learners.

How Tanjung Capital came to be
Tanjung Capital was established in 2016 in Singapore by a small group of educators and financial practitioners who shared a concern: most financial education available to adults was either aimed at young professionals or delivered in a way that left experienced adults feeling talked down to.
The founding team had observed, through years of working with clients and students, that people in their forties and fifties often had more financial experience than they were given credit for — but lacked a structured setting in which to think through the specific questions relevant to their stage of life. CPF planning, retirement income sequencing, and equity market participation for the long term are topics that benefit from unhurried examination.
The name Tanjung — the Malay word for headland or cape — was chosen deliberately. A headland offers a long view in multiple directions. That is the posture we try to bring to financial education: patient, broad-horizon, and respectful of complexity.
Over eight years, we have refined our curriculum through direct feedback from more than 300 learners across Singapore. Each revision has made the courses more grounded and more useful. We do not plan to expand our course list quickly. We would rather do a small number of things well.
— Our Mission
What we are here to do
To provide financial education that treats adult learners with the seriousness and patience their questions deserve. Our courses are not investment advice, and they do not tell you what to do. They give you better tools to think for yourself.
Our approach
- Small cohorts so each participant can contribute to discussion
- Workbook-based learning that builds a personal reference document
- Pace matched to adult learners with busy schedules
- Content grounded in Singapore's specific financial context
- No sales of financial products — ever

Curriculum review
Course materials are reviewed each year against regulatory changes, CPF policy updates, and feedback collected at the end of every cohort.
Cohort size limits
We limit each cohort to no more than fourteen participants so that discussion remains substantive and each learner receives proper attention from the facilitator.

— Our Expertise
Financial education grounded in Singapore's context
Singapore's retirement planning landscape is shaped by specific institutions and policy frameworks — CPF LIFE, SRS, the Supplementary Retirement Scheme contribution rules, and the Minimum Sum requirements. Understanding how these interact requires teaching that is built around the actual regulatory environment, not adapted from overseas curricula.
Our facilitators bring direct familiarity with SGX-listed instruments, locally available ETFs, and the particular tax treatment of investment income for Singapore residents. The courses on equity markets and retirement income draw consistently on this local context rather than relying on hypothetical examples from other markets.
We hold the view that financial clarity is built gradually through structured thinking, careful record-keeping, and regular review. Our workbook model is designed to produce a personal financial reference document that learners can return to, update, and share with family members over the years that follow their enrolment.
